Changing DNS service template

A DNS template is a pre-defined format of a DNS zone. Create a DNS template to quickly apply multiple records to your domains rather than manually add individual records to each domain. Selecting a pre-defined DNS template during domain registration automatically applies the domain's associated zone settings.

Note: Once you apply a custom template to a domain, edits to the domain's zone records are still available.

Change DNS template for a single domain

  1. Log in to the Reseller Control Panel.
  2. Click Domains.
  3. Filter/search and click on the domain name you would like to apply a DNS template.
  4. Tap Edit in the DNS section.
  5. Choose the template from the DNS template drop-down list and then click Apply
  6. Click Save DNS settings

Change DNS service template for multiple domains

The bulk change DNS template feature allows you to select a template to apply the DNS service to multiple domains in one request. The end-user or the reseller can then modify the domain zones. You can also use this feature to reset the zones in multiple domains to those in the specified template.

Important: There is no undo for this operation.

Once a bulk job is submitted, it is possible to cancel the job through the View Details page; however, if any domains have already been processed, you will have to either edit each of those domains or submit another bulk job for those domains, specifying the settings that you want.

  1. Log in to the Reseller Control Panel.
  2. Click Domains.
  3. Check the boxes to put a checkmark next to each of the domains for applying the template.
  4. Select Change DNS template from the bulk actions drop-down list.

  5. Choose the template that you want to apply to the selected domains from the select a template drop-down list.
Note: If you don't select a template (that is, the drop-down displays no template), the DNS service will be enabled, but the zone records will not be defined.
  6. Optionally, enter the email address to which you want the change confirmation to be sent in the Email results to field.
  7. Click Save DNS template.
