Modify user settings

You can modify Email accounts in the Control Panel or in the MAC.

Modifying user settings in the Control Panel

To modify a user in the Control Panel

1. In the Email section of the Control Panel, navigate to the user you want to modify.

2. Click the user name.
The User page opens, displaying the User Settings tab.

3. Click Edit in each section that you want to modify, edit the related fields, and then click Save.

Modifying user settings in the MAC

To modify a user in the MAC

1. Log in to the Mail Administration Console (MAC).
For more information, see "What is the MAC?"

2. Locate the user that you want to modify.
For more information, see “Searching in the Mail Administration Console (MAC)”.

3. Click the user name.
The User page opens, displaying the Settings tab. You can click on the tabs at the top of the page to view additional fields.

4. Modify the applicable user detail fields.

5. Click Update.

Caution: If you rename a user, all of the history that is associated with that user is deleted and cannot be accessed by the restore email tool or the restore contacts tool. The renamed user account begins accumulating history (backups) starting from the date that you rename the user, and email and contacts information can be restored only from this new history.

Viewing user history

Every time that an action is performed on a user account, an entry is made noting the date and time that the action occurred, who initiated the action (the requester), and a brief explanation of the action.

To view the user's history in the Control Panel

1. In the Email section of the Control Panel, navigate to the user you want to view.

2. Click the user name.

3. Scroll down to the Changes section.

 

To view the user's history in the MAC

1. Log in to the Mail Administration Console (MAC).
For more information, see "What is the MAC?"

2. Locate the user that you want to view.
For more information, see “Searching in the Mail Administration Console (MAC)”.

3. Click the user name, and then click the History tab.
