Can I use a "free" email address when ordering an SSL certificate?

Use of a "free" email address in an SSL certificate order is allowed in certain cases. For domain-validated (DV) and organization-validated (OV) SSL certificates, a free email address like name@gmail.com or name@yahoo.com is allowed. However, having a name mismatch in the order will usually cause delays and requests for further information prior to the certificate being issued. For example, ordering an OV certificate with the name Jane Smith and using the email address john.doe@gmail.com will trigger a review of the order.

Use of "free" email addresses is not permitted for Extended Validation (EV) certificate orders.
