.ZA is the TLD for South Africa, and is regulated by ZA Central Registry (ZACR, http://co.za/).
OpenSRS offers domain name registrations for the following third level domains: .CO.ZA, .NET.ZA, .ORG.ZA, and .WEB.ZA. There is no residency requirement for .ZA.
Registration details can be found in the TLD reference chart.
Renewal requests should be submitted prior to the domain’s expiry date in order to renew the domain.
Auto-renew can be removed up to ~2 days prior to the domain’s expiration date, otherwise the domain will renew.
Authorization codes are not required for the transfer of .ZA domains. Transfers will take between 5 and 10 days to complete.
The gaining registrar initiates the transfer process. Upon transfer start, the registrant, as well as the losing registrar, will receive a confirmation email by the registry. If the registrant confirms, the registry will complete the transfer. If no action is taken for five days, the transfer will be cancelled.
Changes of ownership
.ZA changes of ownership follow the procedure outlined in Transferring domains and changing domain ownership. Contact updates take 5 days to complete. Once a contact update has been submitted, no changes to the update may be made until the update is either cancelled or completed. Contact updates may be cancelled manually at the registry by contacting our support team.
