The owner and/or administrative contact of any .JP domain must be located in Japan.
Transfers of .JP domains into the OpenSRS service are not supported.
Outgoing transfers require approval from the losing registrar as well as the administrative contact. Authcodes are not necessary for outgoing transfers, but can be requested from support if required.
Owner updates can be processed using the standard contact update processes. No documentation is required on this request. It is processed manually, typically within 1 - 2 business days.
If the updated owner address is located in Japan, then this name and address will be updated at the registry.
If the updated owner address is not located in Japan, then only the name, organization, and email fields will be updated at the registry. For the address fields, we will use our free local presence service in Japan.
Please Note: The owner address is not displayed in the public WHOIS for .JP. If the local presence service is used, then an owner update with a Japanese address must be performed before any transfer away is possible. Transfers away with the local presence enabled are not supported.
